Your safety always comes first

At Spruce Mountain Adult Education. We know that weather in Maine can change quickly, and sometimes conditions make it unsafe to travel. To keep everyone safe, we follow a clear process for announcing delays, cancellations, or changes to classes.

Keep Up To Date

If the RSU 73 school district closes due to weather, Spruce Mountain Adult Education will also be closed.

In addition, we share updates in several ways so you can always find the information you need:

  • Phone & Email Alerts – Our notification system will send messages directly to you.
  • Website Homepage – Closure notices will appear right at the top of our site.
  • Facebook Page – Follow us for the latest updates and announcements.

Even when classes are canceled in person, learning doesn’t have to stop. Students can continue their work through online class platforms, and instructors will provide updates as needed. If you’re unsure of what to work on, don’t hesitate to reach out directly to your instructor—they’re here to guide and support you. We encourage you to check these sources before traveling to class on stormy days. Your well-being matters to us, and we want to make sure you arrive safely and confidently when classes are in session.
